メディアに備わる時間感覚

日刊紙である大手新聞社の提供する情報が、とても古いもののように思えるのが不思議。

「あれ、それって昔の話じゃ？」というニュースが新聞の一面を飾っていたりする。その情報は昔ではなく、前日のお昼にインターネットで見た情報だったりするけど、気になってWikiで調べたりブログを見ていたりすると、「昔から知っていた情報」のように脳が思い込んでしまう。

で、新聞記事を改めて見てみると、インターネットで調べた以上の情報は載っていなかったりする。インターネットに載っている情報の一部は、まだ載っていなかったりもする。（いや、大人の事情で載せられなかったりする。）

日刊紙が、まるで過去にタイムスリップしているような錯覚を覚えてしまうような情報環境にあって、僕は日刊紙を取るだろうか。

タイムラインという「新たな現実」を作りだしているTwitter型メディアは、日刊紙を過去のものへと葬り去ろうとしている。これは二重の意味で「過去」へと追いやっているのだ。
